Question

FMG, FMS and iOS HTTP Streaming

As there are now support for http streaming for iOS devices in recent releases of the Flash Media Server, is it possible to deliver streamed audio/video that originates from a SIP phone, through the FMG to FMS and on down to an iPhone or iPad?

Or might there be some restriction on using the FMG here?

Thanks,

John Hermanski

Current build of FMG encodes audio in pre-existing NellyMoser & speex codec. Both of these are incompatible with iOS which triggers FMS block delivery of such video to iOS.

We are considering neccessory support in FMG so that video pushed to FMS is ready for iOS delivery as well.

I am looking to do something simular.  Is there any updates to encoding the audio in other formats that would make this possible?  What about sending it to something else to have it transcoded first?
