FMS 2 - CentOS (4.4)

Hi,

I have installed the FMS 2 (Developer License - 10 connection) on a remote CentOS 4.4 with quite a bit of gymnastics! I followed the minimalistic install steps described in the documentation.

After the installation, I logged into the admin console and went to the Manage Servers tab. I can see 'Server 1' with a _defaultVHost_ entry below it. I tried several times to ping and connect to 'Server 1' with no luck.

First of all, when FMS is installed properly, How many servers (services) are supposed to run? There is the admin and I presume a fms server. I tried to start the fms server by this command:

./fmsmgr server fms start

All I get is this output:

Server:fms command:start
NPTL 2.3.4
Starting Macromedia Flash Media Server (please check /var/log/messages)

When I look at the running processes (daemons), I only see fmsadmin! On top of it, the log file is empty! What am I doing wrong? Do I have to install another C++ or C library?

Any help is greatly appreciated.

I have the servers running but I cannot add any applications. When I list the servers I have fmsmaster and fmsadmin. The admin console woks fine but I cannot add any application; the application gets added via the console but disappears shortly. When I looked at 'messages' log file I noticed these repeated meesages:

Jul 30 13:16:50 popcodestudio Server[20250]: No primary license key found. Switching to Developer Edition.
    Jul 30 13:16:50 popcodestudio Adaptor[20250]: Listener started ( _defaultRoot__edge1 ) : 19350
Jul 30 13:16:51 popcodestudio Adaptor[20250]: Failed to create thread (TCProtocolAdaptor::startListenerThread).
Jul 30 13:16:51 popcodestudio Adaptor[20250]: Failed to start listeners for adaptor _defaultRoot__edge1.
    Jul 30 13:16:51 popcodestudio 257[20250]: Server aborted.

I googled everywhere but I couldn't get any help!

Have any ideas, I'd appreciate any feedbacks.

    Thanks a lot.

BTW, Do I need to setup a edge server!?

Yes, that RPM install is necessary with Cent OS and any version of RH Linux.

For us, that RPM was even available in the Package Installer admin in WHM (although it was named differently ... something like nspr-x.x.x-.x.x.x)

After that RPM install, FMS started and worked perfectly.
