FMS 3.5.3 Freezing/Stuttering server playback of recorded streams

Hi,

I'm using the server Stream.play() method to playback a recorded stream, it plays back fine until it hits the buffer limit (Say I set the buffer to 5 seconds, it will playback fine for 5 seconds). But then it freezes and playback is very stuttery (1 frame every 2/3 seconds). Is this a know issue? I'm using windows 2008 server.

I've tried a few things to resolve this but no luck. The server is running the dev license and has no load.

Any ideas?

Thanks,

Chris

I reinstalled FMS on the server and now it works fine. Thanks for your help!

Which version of FMS of 3.5.3 are you using? Also can you let me know Flash Player Version and Browser details. What client OS are you on?

    Hi,

Client is on XP, With Flash Player 10,0,45,2 Debug version (Firefox Browser).

I'm using the Flex Spark VideoDisplay component to playback video.

Not quite sure what you mean by FMS 3.5.3 version. I have the development FMIS instance (Installed a few months ago) it's running on 32 bit Windows 2008.

    Thanks

Do you have any other browser , to see if you can see issue there. If you cannot then probably issue might be with Firefox.

Also it would be good if you can try with default VideoPlayer which comes with FMS to see if you see any stuttering there.

I wanted to check which build number do you have of FMS 3.5.3 ( not so important but its good to have info in case if i want to try to repro it in-house) - you can get it from logs - first few lines of any diagnostic logs would have it - check say core.00.log
