FMS 3.5 not playing back recorded audio stream
We host Flash Media Server 3.5 on Windows Server 2008 SP2. The server is is only used for FMS 3.5 and as an FTP server for a few clients. We host an e-learning course that connects to the FMS and records audio from the users microphone which gets played back so the user can hear their recording shortly after. When the user clicks the record button in the course there is a multi colored feedback bar that shows the volume of your voice and that it is being recorded. Currently the users audio is not being recorded or being picked up by the feedback bar. When the user clicks the play button no audio is played back.
I checked the FMS to see if the .FLA files were being saved to the server and they were not. There was over 5200 .FLA files in this directory: ‘C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Flash Media Server 3.5\applications\ClientName\streams\_definst_ ‘. Usually when I delete all the recorded audio files from that folder and reboot the server the audio recording works again. However, now after clearing out that directory and rebooting the server we are still having audio play back issues. The e-learning course has not been updated in several years and has always worked fine. I do not think this is a course code issue but if you have any questions about the course I can ask the developer. Is there any solutions to this problem? Would upgrading FMS to a higher version fix this issue? It seems like every time there over 5000 FLA files in that streams directory the problem starts occurring. If you need any additional information to troubleshoot this problem please let me know.
