Question

FMS 3 over FMS 2

Hi,

The Adobe site wasn't clear enough for me. I have 2 main questions:

- The site wasn't clear about if Flash Media Interactive Server also is unlimited users/bandwidth. It states that Flash Media Streaming Server is.

- What is so new in FMS 3 that you would want it over FMS2. I suppose future Flash players will still be able to connect to FMS2, not? There is some info on Adobe's site on FMS3, but I couldn't find a comparison between FMS2 and FMS3.

Hoping for you help.

Kind regards.

Ironically, I found Wowza Media Server's comparison chart more informative about the difference between Asobe's Interactive Server vs. Streaming Server:
    http://www.wowzamedia.com/comparison.html

I'm not interested in Wowza (server side language is Java, blah!) but the comparison states that both Interactive and Streaming are unlimited connections.

FMS2 doesnt currently do h264/he-aac streaming. It also doesnt support the upcoming DRM package that'll work with FMS3

I'm also curious about the upcoming FMS releases. I couldn't find any information on the site to explain the detailed features of the new products. Is there somewhere that describes the ActionScript that will be supported in the server? Will it be able to accept real ActionScript 3 clients? What sort of object management features are being added? If anyone knows where a sort of developer's checklist of available items in FMS 3 can be found, I'd really appreciate seeing it, we're going to be doing version 2 of a product for FMS 3, and I'd kind of like to get a leg up on the internalization of the API.

Thanks in advance for any help.
