Question

FMS 4.5 and CentOS 6.1

FMS 4.5 lists CentOS 5.5 as a supported OS. Has it been tested on CentOS 6.1? Setting up a new server with FMS 4.5 and wondering if it's best to stick with CentOS 5.5 or if it should be OK to use CentOS 6.1. Thanks.

    FMS 4.5 is officially tested for CentOS 5.5 and not beyond, though there should not be anything that makes an issue on those versions. The installer and startup scripts might need to be edited to all / continue on this not-supported version , though.

    We routinely are using FMS now on CentOS 5.7 but 6.1 is still not much used.

    In centOS 5.7 I'm getting errors that stop RTMP.  The HTTP (HLS/Origin) works fine.

    Have you ever come accross this?

    Adaptor[7572]: Failed to create thread (TCPollThread Ctor).

    Feb 10 17:11:19  Adaptor[7572]: Failed to create thread (TCProtocolAdaptor::startListenerThread).

    Feb 10 17:11:19  Adaptor[7572]: Failed to start listeners for adaptor _defaultRoot__edge1.

    Feb 10 17:11:19  Edge[7572]: Failed to start edge : _defaultRoot__edge1

    Thanks,

    Some dependency problem? Do a ldd on the fmscore and hds.so to see if everything is available. Also make sure the ports are free and open,
