After a random time ... the application become a zombie : it doesn't respond.

In the admin console, it appear like an other application but the number of connected client grow up indifinitely (client are never disconnected ... ) and log are not writen in application.00.log !

So, why create this problem ?

I'm on Windows 2003, I think it's an issue in FMS itselft. I noticed there are a few other threads out there where Adobe stops responding and I am thinking they are probably all related to a bug of some sort.

    Hi all,

Just to clarify - usually when you see a thread that a member of Adobe staff is consulting on stop without resolution it means that we've taken the case offline to be investigated as a bug.  This is for the privacy of the customer, the incident, and the Adobe support staff.  Kiiwy' s issue is in queue for investigation right now and naturally we're looking forward to getting to the bottom of the problem and fixing it.

    Hi,

    Could anyone update this thread?

    Thanks

All we are using at this point is for simple podcasts streaming recorded video and/or audio files and embedding video clips in our web pages.

    April 28, 2010

Uhm it's strange ... our applications are completely different.

Perhaps the issue is related to the software environnement ?

What kind of OS do you have ?

    Me : Redhat enterprise

    April 28, 2010

I honestly don't know what triggers triggers it. Every couple days our streams will just stop responding.

    April 28, 2010

    What do your application ?

    Our application, create webcam-chatroom between users ( 1v1 ).

We used : streams (one per user to publish / one per user to play (the other user)), sharedobject (one per user to stock pseudo and information).

    April 27, 2010

Did you ever get a resolution to this? I think I have the same issue as you.

    April 28, 2010

    Hi,

Sorry, we didn't find a solution to this issue ... Adobe has created a ticket on it.
My actual solution : use Red5 server.

But i'm curious, could you explain how you reproduce this issue ?

    March 29, 2010

Someone else has an idea about this  problem?
I begin to think that this is a bug of FMS. Is  there an adobe internal developper here ?

    March 29, 2010

    Hi,

I am a part of the FMS team but I want more information to help you out of this. Did you happen to check the FMS logs and also the application.00.log of the 'zombie' app? It would be good if you could check them once and let me know if you see something suspicious there.

Also could you try creating one empty application folder say "test" on your FMS and restart FMS and just make a plain netconnection to it. Is it also getting stuck after a while? If not there could be some specific usage in the app which might give us some clue.

    Thanks

There is  nothing abnormal in application.00.log ...

For information, my application is a "chatroulette"-like. The main program only create "chat room" between two client. I use rtmfp/stratus on client side to reduce server traffic. But when stratus doesn't work i use fms instead. All works fine, except this 'problem'.

    I'll try this test.

    Thanks.

    Hi,

Could you provide some more information so that I can try and debug the issue you are running into?

    1. Which version of FMS are you on?

    2. Which platform Windows 2003 or RHEL 5.2?

    3. Is there a possibility if some logic in the app could have gone wrong and hence resulting in a never ending loop or something?

    4. If you unload the app in admin console do you see it get reloaded by itself?

    5. If you unload the app in admin console and make a connection to the app, does the app become unresponsive again?

    Thanks

    >1. Which version of FMS are you on?

    FMS 3.5.3

    >2. Which platform Windows 2003 or  RHEL 5.2?

    RHEL 5.4

    3.  Is there a possibility if some logic in the app could have gone wrong  and hence resulting in a never ending loop or something?

We have checked this possibility many times ... i think we have no never ending loop.

    4. If you  unload the app in admin console do you see it get reloaded by itself?

No, application wait a new connection to restart. (like other app)

    5. If you  unload the app in admin console and make a connection to the app, does  the app become unresponsive again?

No, it restart good but the problem appear after a random time ...

    Any idea ?

    March 22, 2010

Don't seem to have much clue there.

As you say you don't see any traces in the application.00.log. Could you check the FMS logs core.00.log, master.00.log, edge.00.log and access.00.log if there is anything logged there to indicate what happened to the app? If possible could you send the fms logs and the app so i can take a look at what is happenning?

    Thanks
