FMS disconnect from FME

Hi Guys

We are new to FMS and have just deployed a FMS 3.5 for a live streaming project.  but I seem to be getting a bit of an issue where the FMLE seems to disconnect and reconect to the FMS several times.  but some times the FMLE seems not to be able to reconect back to the FMS.  I read somewhere that this bug have been fixed with the FMS version 3.5.3 updater.  also I can see the client still connected afoter they drop connection on the admin console

I dont mind setting up the updater but just want to be sure this would fix the problem as I have live web TV on the FMS.  Also is there a way to update without loosing all the config?

Please any help would do guys.

FMS running on Windows 2008 server R2,  4mb,  Dual Zeon CPU

    Hi,


    I'm looking for solution to inconsistent problem that happen when I'm streaming in live :
    a. FMLE is disconnect for couple seconds (10 -30), stop encoding and then renew the connection and the encoding
    b. In the same time, I can see users (streams) are disconnecting/ disappear from the console.

    As said it can happen once in a session, but this disconnect most of the users and they have to refresh their browser
    to get the live session again.

    Currently I'm using FMSS 3.5.4 r210, Linux redhat 5.2,  6 Intel(R) Xeon(R) CPU 16GB.

    I search the adobe forum and found your reply to a post named "FMS disconnect from FME" (Jun 7, 2010 3:36 PM by BJWP Ltd)
    but it's not clear to me if it's a known problem and how it can be solved.

    Hi Jim

    When you mention that "FMLE seems to disconnect and reconect to the FMS several times", do you see anything informative/ asserts logged in FMS logs?

    Which protocol did you use in FMLE to connect to FMS, rtmp or rtmpt?

    If you'd like to update to FMS 3.5.3 rightaway without losing the conf/ then I suggest you refer the FMS doc "flashmediaserver_3.5_install.pdf". Check the section named "Preparing to Upgrade", which tells you what all to backup so that you don't end up losing information after the upgrade.

    Hi Mamata

    Thanks for your info.  I have upgraded the server to FMS 3.5.3 without loosing data thanks to you.  but we are still getting the disconection a lot.  the problem is when it does thos random diconecting and reconecting sometimes the clemt cant connect after a while.

    I am conecting via rtmp protocol,  I dont see anything on the log though to sudgest reason for disconnection.  but would keep looking.

    I hope you are checking the logs at FMS Install directory/logs, access.00.log, core.00.log, edge.00.log and master.00.log. Just confirming.

    If it's ok for you to share the FMS logs, you could send them to me at vkarna@adobe.com

    Can you try connecting to the same FMS app (to which FMLE connects) using a simple flash client(swf movie) and see if you face the frequent disconnects there too?
