Hi,
I am trying install and run FMS 3.2 (DEV) on Parallels on my Mac, so I can run and test a website connecting to FMS from localhost:8888.

I have installed FMS 3.2 and all is ok there, but when I go to the admin console it hangs with "connecting to server [server 1]" and does not move from there. I have installed FMS Dev server plenty of times before but never experienced this before. Any help would be much appreciated.

Regards Bruce

I've been trying to do this as well....
I haven't updated to FMS 3.2 or 3.5 yet, but here is what I just did to get the Admin Console and the HelloWorld app to work.

I couldn't get anywhere with" localhost.."
I used Apple Remote Desktop, to get the IP address of windowsXP running on Parallels.
(I'm sure there is a better way from inside of windows XP)

I used this locally assigned IP address inside the FM Admin Console, and it didn't work...
so I opened up ports 1111 and 1112 inside of windowsXP, this got the FMAdminConsole to work..
    But NOT the Sample Apps...
I then turned off the windowsXP firewall and everything works great!

I know there is a better way, involving " Bridged Networking" see: http://www.flashnewz.com/run-flash-media-server-on-your-mac-in-parallels/
But haven't got it to work yet...

    .....NOTE....
I'm worried that every time I shut my laptop down or quit Parallels the IP will change and I'll have to re write code..
AND the security hole of not having a FIREWALL on windowsXP.

so any insight would help me aswell
