FMS Player Developed?

Hi,

I am a hosting provider and have been using a product called
Emulive to publish live streaming video for a couple of customers.
I would like to move to using Flash Media Server 2. I have the
developer edition installed on a Windows 2003 machine and a Linux
RHES4 machine. I would like to use the Linux machine for the
production environment.

What I need is a custom flash player and upload system to
interface with FMS to allow me to upload a stream with sound for
website visitors. I like the YouTube player and would like options
similar to those for playback, including full screen mode.

Are there any pre-packaged products out there to do this sort
of thing? If so, how much would it cost? If I get a custom
programmed solution, what should I expect to pay and how long do
you guys think it should take?

I don't know of any prefab systems that will handle all of your needs, but I suppose you could put together bit and pieces of different prefab oferings to build what you need. In the end, I think you'd be better off contracting a qualified developer to build a custom solution.

The player and file upload will be fairly easy, but if you want to accept media files in formats other than .flv and/or mp3, you're going to need to employ some additional server software to handle the format conversions (FMs doesn't support any media types other than flv and mp3.
