FMS to AMS in light of HTML5 streaming

My employer has many licenses of Flash Media Server 4.  This tech uses Flash to live stream, but in light of the modern push, and Adobe's discontinuing Flash by 2020, I need to know how to proceed.  I work for a public education system and most of our elementary, and some of our middle schools use this software with Wirecast to broadcast in school news shows.

It is becoming increasingly difficult to launch the live stream due to browsers beginning to disable Flash, or simply not allow it at all.  Does Adobe Media Server broadcast live to HTML 5 players?  If not, will AMS broadcast live to HTML 5 players?

I am looking at alternatives, but the complexity of setting these up is not something I desire being forced to endure.  I couldn't find a direct email for support for our product and I am well aware that it is most likely out of support as it were.  Knowing Youtube and Twitch are using HTML 5 players, I need to work now on a solution for our schools so they do not lose something that the schools enjoy and the students enjoy doing.

Adobe, I hope that you will be able to help me resolve this.

I'm pretty sure Flash Media Server 4 already can stream to HTML5 Players supporting HLS (the most used), AMS 5 (flash media server 5 rebranded as Adobe Media Server) extended this support and works very well so you can see if you can upgrade (at least to 4.5 version).

Said that, MPEG-DASH HTTP Streaming is not supported by AMS (even version 5) so you are searching for a comprehensive solution you've to start to see elsewhere i guess.

Thank you, Andrea.  I will continue to attempt to get the HLS to work.  I have reason to suspect that the configurations made by the person before me are complicating the process so I will setup a Virtual Environment with a clean setup and see if I can get it to work.  If I find that I can indeed utilize an HTML5 compliant solution in FMS 4 (or 4.5 or AMS 5) then I will mark your answer as correct.

I know very little about all of this as my experience is using services such as YouTube or Twitch, but being an "internal only" solution with kids from our schools we cannot use such public services.  Believe me, I wish I could.

Thanks again for your assistance.

I think the idea of starting from scratch with a fresh install of AMS is the best one; a default install will provide you with builtin application that support both RTMP and HLS/HDS streaming.

You simply have different urls for the same video and each one of this url provide RTMP, HDS or HLS (the one you need and that support also IOS devices); documentation is clear and comprehensive for this.
