FMSEdge.exe runaway process on 3.5.2/Win2003 server?

Default install of Flash Media Server 3.5.2 r654 on Windows 2003 Server Sp2. 16 GB of RAM.

Just testing with the out of box Flash application, and simple 'hello world' rtmp streaming video app, we see several times a day at seemingly random intervals FMSEdge.exe will jump to 100% and peg the CPU and stay there. Until it is killed, the Flash applications are unresponsive until it is killed.

As one would expect, this is a showstopper for any serious use -- has anyone experienced this or have any suggestions for troubleshooting? Keep in mind this is an OOB install.

There was a previous thread mentioning a similar issue (ie FMSEdge pegs cpu) coinciding with the virus scan, however no one responded to solve that issue.

Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.

Same issue here on FMS 3.5.3 running on a Windows 2008 Enterprise box -- though it seems to happen rarely and randomly. Any official feedback from Adobe on this, please?

We found that disabling the Apache service has helped, but still seeing some

    issues.

    Hi -

I am currently running into these same issues regarding the random CPU pegging of FMSedge.exe.. has anyone else had this issue?

    Hi,

Which version of FMS are you using? If you are on FMS 3.5.2, it would be good to update to FMS 3.5.3.

What is the operating system that you are using?

    Thanks

wow i've been runnin FMS for years now and have never exsperienced that problem.....my gut instinct tells me its something other than fms......can you install fms developer edtion on a laptop or desktop and run the same app to see if the problem persists....this way we can rule out the application causeing the problem.......if that doesn't appeal to you i suggest you turn off all non essential processess and see if the problem clears up.

I agree it's most likely some conflict issue, as I have not been able to replicate it outside of a Win2003 environment. Also it seems to happen randomly, so turning programs off and waiting really isn't a feasible option.

Is there a way to bump up logging in the edge.log log files and is there something specific I should be looking for that could give a clue?
