hardware question - blade server

Hello,

We're in process of trying to purchase a new server. Our server unit wanted to provide a VM instance, which I told them would not work (according to the documentation). So, their next suggestion is to provide a blade server. Is this an acceptable configuration (assuming they meet recommended CPU/RAM requirements) to install FMS?

Please advise.

    FMS will work on a blade, no issues there.  It would probably work on a VM also, but I don't know how much success folks have had with them in the field.  That said, I would be apprehensive to put FMS on a VM just because of the performance issues that might crop up... there isn't any point to have another level of indirection with the OS when you push the server to its limits already (well at least for sites that have lots of simultaneous users)
