Question

Having problems with FMS when upgrading OS

Currently I have a music player that uses FMS on Windows 2003 Server/IIS 6 in a .Net app.

I'm trying to move to Windows Server 2008 with IIS 7.  However, the player doesn't begin playing from my list when the asp.net page loads with the player.  However, if I run my code in debug mose in Visual Studio on the server, the player is functional.

Which leads me to ask - can I use FMS in the fashion I want to?  If so, how can I set up my site?  I tried putting my app pool into classic mode, which didn't work.

Please help!  Thank you in advance

Therese

    Hi,

Since you are able to run the music player in debug mode hence we can assume FMS is running fine. To double check you can verify if Flash Media Administration Server and Flash Media Server services are started in the Windows Services panel (maybe you have already checked all this but just making sure )

Apart from that I think you may have to check if there are any differences in the manner your app is hosted on IIS 7 as compared to IIS 6. Could you also elaborate on what error you obtain in the client-side flash code of the music player app when you attempt to load the page?

    Regards
