Question

HLS-Live has no audio

Hi folks!

Here's one that baffles me... I broadcast a video stream from Flash Live Encoder, it all works great on the web when I have MP3 audio selected in the settings. But when I watch the HLS stream on iPhone, I have the video but no audio. Adobe's documentation says we need to select AAC audio in the Live Encoder settings, but when I do so, I end up with no video and no audio, on both the web and iPhone.

Any advice on this??

Thanks

sv

    Hey SV,

Yes thats right. HLS on Adobe FMS only recommends AAC.

Can you please make sure that the streams are getting recorded in the livepkgr/streams folder and that your core logs are clean?

    Thanks,

    Shiven

    Will do!

But what do I look for, when you say "core logs are clean"...?? Where is that file exactly? I need to delete its content if there is data in it?

You can look for logs - under your <installed directory>/logs. Here you will find all of FMS diagonistic logs - one of them would be core logs namely core.00.log,core.01.logs.... . Just open most recent core log and see if it has logged any error message.

Like Shiven said make sure your recording is working - see if the files are growing in size.

Right now - you can just go ahead and delete your streams folder of livepkgr and restart the server and republish with correct codec setting i,e. H.264 and AAC. Then check playback and see if things are working,
