This is an one liner question for a huge answer

    Here you go...

    Server:

You should have Flash Media Server installed in a supported platform which comes with "Live" and "vod" applications to which the clients can connect and view the stream.

    Application:

You can use the Live/Vod apps that gets installed in your server or have your custom application based on your license limitation.

    Clients:

    Subscriber:

You should have a client application for the user to connect and view the stream. You can use the Video Player that comes along with FMS located at $\Flash Media Server 3.5\samples\videoPlayer\ or build your own client application using Flash or Flex.. etc. SO the user is ready to subscribe to a live or vod streams.

    Publisher for Live streaming:

You need a publisher who connects to Live application and publishes a stream which can be subscribed by the subscribers. You can use simple flash application or Flash Media Live Encoder or any other encoder to do the same.

    VOD:

You can place the recorded videos under VOD application for the users to subscribe.

You can go through FMS Developer Guide for more details.

Thanks for your answer. I really appreciate. My major question is How clients recieve the streams having connected to the network. Ofcus i dont have to instal the player on their systems, so i really need to know how they watch the streamed video or audio.

client already has flash player installed on their computer and can play any .swf that you create including its video or streaming video......this is not a problem 98% of all computers have flash installed.
