    Hi andrewvanbueren ,

I am sorry I did not get your problem entirely. So just to confirm do you mean that you are able to play the video over RTMP and not over HTTP.

    Also when you say

    >>>but when i replace localhost with my IP address

Do you say that you are able to play the stream using localhost but not able to play it using the IP adress of your system.

Please let us know what exactly are you trying to achieve so that we can nail down the issue better.

    Thanks,

    Abhishek

    ok,

I have media streaming server 3.5 installed on my HP server. I can view the stream in Adobe Flash media server 3.5  videoplayer which shows the stream on the flash server. My question is that i can see stream viewed on server page but how does any one externally view my stream. I can view my stream now on the server using adobe media server page and their video player and it is in RTMP which is rtmp://192.168.1.254/live/livestream. as i only view this via abobe videoplayer how can other people view my live streams. please assist in laymans terms. thank you

    Hi,

You may like to go through the article http://www.adobe.com/devnet/flashmediaserver/articles/beginner_vod_fm3.html and also go through sample applications in the Flash Media Server Developer Connection at http://www.adobe.com/devnet/flashmediaserver/sample_apps.html. This will help you get a fair idea of how real world applications are developed using FMS. There are some very good tutorials on the site which will help you develop your own video applications and how to deploy it in a webpage.

If you still face issues or need some clarifications do revert back.

    Thanks,

    Abhishek
