Hi,

I'm trying to publish video streaming over internet. I want to use the h264 codec in FMS for that. Is there any in built property or setting to use h264 or have to use library for that. And also want to know among VP6, sorenson and 264 which is better to use.

Thanx in advance

Nitesh

What jaycharles is saying is absolutely correct. You can try out FMLE - http://www.adobe.com/products/flashmediaserver/flashmediaencoder/

The only codec available in the Flashplayer is Sorenson Spark (h.263). If you want H.264 or VP6 encoding, you'll need to use another application for publishing.

For high resolution video, I prefer H.264. For lower resolution, I prefer VP6.

    Hi Jay,

         Thanx for quick response,

Do you mean to say that to use h264 or vp6 I have to make application in another technology/ using open source library as plugin.

or we can directly use h264 in our application, as like we have option for two codec for audio in that, and just setting the codec property we were able to use.

    Thanx in advance.

If you just intend to publish live content, i would suggest you try out FMLE - its free and can publish H264 and VP6 both.
