i already have Apache on my computer and it is on port 80. I am pretty sure you cant install two server programs on the same port, but it says on places on the adobe to website to not change the port unless you know what you are doing (which I don't at this point). Why shouldn't I? What would I need to do differently? Thanks!

If FMS isn't bound to port 80, then users behind strict firewalls may not be able to connect to your FMS. The Flashplayer will try port 1935 first, then port 80.

You are correct that you can't bind two devices to the same port, but that only applies if you're trying to do it on a single IP. If you add another IP address to your NIC, then you have two port 80's. That would allow you to bind Apache to one IP, and FMS to the other IP, allowing both to have access to port 80.

In the end, if you're not worried about users who can't get through on port 1935, then there's no reason to bind to it. Just take port 80 out of the hostport list.
