Install the development version on Ubuntu?

I downloaded the development version, and reading the readme.htm and it says:

For production: Windows   Server® 2003 SP2, Windows   Server® 2008, Red   Hat® 5.2, Red   Hat® 4

For development: Windows   XP® SP2

But then I read further down this:

To install Flash Media  Server on Linux:

😎 Enter a serial number.  If you don’t enter a serial number, Flash Media Development Server installs.

So I suppose I can install the Development version on a Linux server, the question is can I do it on a Ubuntu Server x64? I guess not?

It's possible but untested and currently unsupported by Adobe.  So, if you must go this route you can ask the installer to move forward with the install on whatever *nix platform you wish by issuing it a -platformWarnOnly option.  FYI - you're likely to run into possible issues with glibc compatability/linkage odditites/potential kernel incompatabilities etc - the standard unix system conflict fare.  Happy hunting...
