Installing FMS on a local machine

Hi, I'm a newbie to FMS. I want to create a voice/video chat (currently working with AS2) and therefore need to install FMS. My provider doesn't have it installed on his machines and seems to have no intention of doing it either. My question is can it be installed on a home machine (kept running 24/7) and be used by people visiting the website voice/video chat I'm creating? If so, how do I go about doing it, with IP's and all?

    Thank you for your quick reply. How do I obtain a public IP? Do I need to purchase or pay to obtain more than 10 connections?

    Yes, FMS can be installed on a home machine. It is recommended to be used on Windows 2003 server or RHEL 4.1 but Windows XP should also be fine)

    Development server will allow no more than 10 connections to FMS. Flash Media Interactive server would be required if you need more connections.

    Your machine needs a public IP for FMS to be visible to all.

    The default configuration of FMS is enough to start your application. If you want to tweak, look into the ‘Vhost.xml’ file, in the conf folder under the installation directory.
