Question

Is there a way to increase multicast connection limit on FMS 4.5 past 500?

So I am new to all of this, so forgive the possible dumb question.  I am running FMS 4.5 using rtmfp and I wanted to know if there is a way to configure the server to handle more than 500 multicast connections.  If no, is there a way to link two FMS together to increase that limit to 1000?  If I need to provide additional details on my setup I can.  I am still trying to understand how all this works, and for background, this FMS has already been setup prior to me working with it.  Thanks!

You must be using Flash Media Interactive Server 4.5. For RTMFP that has connection limit of 500. Please see the following link which actually shows the comparison for different editions Adobe Media Server 5 which will give you more idea:

Thank you for that, so I guess my next question would be is there a way to mulitcast without using the RTMFP which has the 500 connection limit based on what software I have already purchased, or would I have to upgrade to FMS 5 Pro to get the unlimited multicast connections?

No, you can not multicast without using RTMFP. Also, you need to upgrade to AMS 5 Extended as this has 15000 connection limit for RTMFP unicast as well as RTMFP P2P introductions. Also, Interactive is named to Professional in AMS 5 release.
