If you have more than one CPU core, load can be 100 * number of cores. This is true for most applications and operating systems.

I have a similar question about the x-cpu-load value.

We're using Amazon web services for hosting and we are using an Extra Large Server:

8 EC2 Compute Units (4 virtual cores with 2 EC2 Compute Units each)

We've seen up to 311 in the x-cpu-load column of our access log.

Does that imply that we're using up to 77% of our CPU (311/400)?  Or am I reading that wrong?

    Thanks!
