Linux -VS- Windows

I know I'm opening a can of worms here, but does anyone know of a comparison between Flash Media Server running on Windows 2003 and Redhat AS 4.0 (64 bit)? We are looking at getting an environment put together and would like to hear pros and cons for each. I'm interested in such things as stability issues, speed comparisons, load capacity, and administration complexity. I would also be interested in informal comparisons that people have done as long as it isn't a Windows or Linux bashing session.

Thanks

FMS does not run on RH 64 bit - at least it's not supported right now (if I am not mistaken)

Performance-wise there's no real difference between the two OS's, in some large scale FMS environments Windows turned out to be slightly better, but I haven't seen this difference myself. It may have occurred because the Linux system wasn't configured for maximum performance.

I personally prefer Linux as it's more verbose and you can do more things when it comes to debugging network related issues and it's easier to access from remote. In large scale architectures, I think RH has an advantage as it's somewhat cheaper than Windows Server 2003.

At the end of the day it's really more about your companies platform strategy than anything else.
