Live Broadcast with Server 2003

Hello.

I have jumped into trying to set up a live streaming cam for our company and have installed Flash Media Server onto a windows 2003 Enterprise Server. I am trying to host live streaming video to no more than 1 viewer at a time.

I have followed the guide posted here Beginners Guide to Streaming Live Video and have gotten it all set up.

I am having trouble getting the feed to broadcast on the website I have setup on Server 2003. I am able to pull the html page itself and can even see the media player but no feed is there. I do not intend to have this stream used 24/7, nor do I intend it to be put out for public use. It is strictly for "by appointment" video inspections of our product. I also do not need to interact with the viewer other than for them to see and hear the stream.

As I mentioned I am new to this so am not sure what information someone would need from me in terms of my setup but will happily supply it if someone could give me a helping hand. Some things I think might be asked:

I am running this through a router but believe I have the proper ports opened up to accept the incoming requests.
The PC that is hosting is the only one on using this IP address
I installed using the default settings for FMS

Thanks very much.

Windows Server 2003 has issues with FLV files.

    Hope this helps.

Thanks for the link. I'll give it a go and see if that fixes the issue.

    Thanks much for the reply.

Were you able to access the live stream at localhost? If you were never successful in the test setup, I would recommend verifying the setup on server machine using FME + flashplayer on the same machine.

I am able to see the stream with localhost. I have FMS/FME and Webhosting on same machine.
