Question

Live Multiple Streaming

Hello Readers,

I am having some trouble.

Plot: There is a place, XYZ from where we have to stream 5 different Video feeds. However, at the Client end, only one video has to be seen.

I cannot let  all the 5 streams to be run from the place XYZ considering Bandwidth constraints.

Is there any way wherein programatically one can switch streams from XYZ so that only one stream is active at a time and Client can see that feed.

Please Help.

Thanks

are you using Flash Media Server and Flash Media encoder from site xyz? but you have 5 different locations, do you mean to say that you have one Flash media Server at the primary site and the other 5 sites are each using the encoder to stream to primary site with the primary broadcasting the main feed. What software studio where you mix all the inputs from the other 5 sites are you using?

    Hello,

    Thank You for replying.

The second opinion of yours is what I think suits my need.

XYZ is an apartment, from which I have to stream 5 different Video feeds. These Video feeds go to Flash Server which is located in a remote webserver (not in XYZ).

I am not using any Studio as such (had no idea about it, till now) I was using FMLE to stream videos from the 5 locations in XYZ.

My problem is that before the Video feeds reach the FMS, or before leaving the XYZ apartment's LAN, I have to choose any one of the 5 feeds (at runtime) and let is publish at the server.

I have come across some Software based switchers like The TriCaster studio, but wonder if they would help me.

    Please Help.

    Thanks

why don't you try using a website that already has this functionality. All you need to do is create an account for free, you can live stream from 5 locations, record the output for archiving purposes and also for ON-DEMAND viewing. I use it and it is much more convenient and also save on the bandwidth.

    the website is www.livestream.com

it creates your own account and also gives you a soft studio for video & audio mixing.
