Live Streaming Audio Advice

Hello,

In several months I will be setting up a live streaming audio event for our client.

I have plenty o experience encoding and muxxing video and audio, but that ended 5 years ago, also we have a streaming server running vod vids and it is working great.

We will be doing it all through Flash Media Encoder, but my questions are in regard to what we should use before we push it to the server,

Do you guys have any suggestions for capture cards/ audio mixers?

Also are there any tutorials for this online, I haven't been able to find anything of worth in regars to actually producing the event.
