I am new to the FMS....I have down loaded FMS3....I am also trying to get other to view me on my webcam through a website. My question is, do I need the Media Encoder for FMS3 or is that already included in it?

Any help will be great.

Thanks

In order to get webcam video working with Flash Media Server you have two options.

    1) Use Flash Media Encoder - this is good if you always encode from one station and publish it. It has also better quality then option 2. In this case you publish video to the FMS and it will work. You need a client to see the video.
    2) Use Flash .swf file - this is good if you want to put .swf file on the server and let people to publish their own video. This requires some programming skills or you need to find ready-made flash.

I would like to do something different (the logical schema is quite the same, but...): send video from my cell phone (a nokia e.g. but I can change if needed...) to a web server where i can see it/store it. Which is the minimum configuration (software & hardware) I need to realize it? My best choice would be: Flash Lite for mobile device, some other Adobe technology for Web Server but, possibly, no Java.
    Thanks in advance.
