login fails after update!

Hi!

Just updated from FMS 3.5.2 to 3.5.4. After this I'm not able to login onto the server. I really need some quick help so please give me some tips to solve this.

I've tired to check the fms.ini file without any luck. I've tried to login using both localhost and domain/url. I've tried to use a backup of the conf-folder but all responses from the installation is: "login attemt to the server below failed".

It worked PERFECT before the update. There has been no changes in firewall etc. during updateinstallation.

What is wrong??? Please help me!

I have the same problem but on RedHat, perfect servers running 3.0.4 do the upgrade to 3.5.1 and now no client connections can be made. I can get the admin login OK as the admin process is running OK. When I type the startup commands for the server it starts running but then returns to the prompt. A process list at this point reveals that /opt/adobe/fmscore is running but there is no edge process running.

We then proceded to downgrade the FMS server till it worked again, and it failed for 3.5.2 but worked for 3.5.1 with no other configuration changes. We now have 3.5.1 running but any attempt to bring them up to anythig higher results is a dead server.

Can anyone shed any light on this issue? 3.5.x gets rid of the bad audio packet bug and this is a major thing for us as we do lots of webcam stuff...can manage with 3.5.1 I guess but why should a minor increment make such a change to the installtion procedure.

    Hi Andi!

Sorry for the late feedback but I think you'd be better off starting a new thread. In my case I checked if both the Admin server process and the FMS process were running. Starting them fixed my login problems. But I'm not running RedHat. Since my post has been answered I'm afraid the other Guru's will ignore this thread.

Sorry for not being more helpful.

Are you trying to log into Admin Server? Is admin server running after the upgrade?

Are you trying to log into Admin Server?

Yes, I'm trying to log into the Admin console.

Is admin server running after the upgrade?

Yes, I think so. How can I check that it is? I've tried to manually start it and log on without any luck. Why are there both an admin server and FMIS? I also believe FMIS has ALWAS initiated at ServerOS startup. There was a checkbox for this during installation.

The only thing I can think of now is the Apache serverer, which I checked during the update installation. Probably a bad idea since it was already installed. Could this  (installing it twice) cause any problem? Can't find a way to uninstall Apache. This is a nightmare, I'm desperate!

Thanks for replying, but please help don't give up on me...

You can check in Task Manager to see if there is process called FMSAdmin or if you are using Linux use ps -e | grep fms and see if you can see fmsadmin process listed.

Can you let me know how your current fms.ini looks like?
