Make PING with FLASH

Hi!
I would like to make some "ping's" to some PC's.
My idea is to using XML + FLASH.
I using normaly the Command Line (CMD) to see that my computers are connect correctly in my house.
But... i would like to make a SWF and put a button red if the computer is connected and a button red if the computer isn't connected.

Is It possible??
