manually set the CEK for live stream?

I need to be able to add the encryption key to a live channel media object in our VMS. can I manually generate this and somehow use it in the livepkgr app to deliver the DRM'd hds-live stream?

I know that the common-key.bin file + the contentID are used to generate the encryption keys by the packager, but I need the resulting key for our media object in the VMS.
