Media Server on Linux hosting

Hi all!

I want to set up a private video streaming service for a relatively small number of users (students of a language school). I'm going to use a Linux web hosing with its own control panel (http://fastpanel.direct) with nginx web server.

Can I install Media Server on a Linux server or do I need Windows? Does it matter if I use nginx or Apache?

Maybe there is a detailed tutorial on how to install Adobe Media Server?

Really sorry for noob questions, I'm a total newbie.

As noted in the previous reply to your post, AMS is definitely end of life and not supported at all. You'd be better to go check out Wowza as they have a version that you can use for free for such a small amount of users.

Media server is end of life, I understand. This may not be a good choice for new deployment, especially as it may be impossible to administer after Flash reaches EOL.
