monitoring solutions for Flash Media Server

I'm looking for a way to monitor the health of our media server. Specifically I would like to know that videos are being downloaded and played. It would be wonderful if there were a service that could hit a URL, simulate clicking a button, and then detect audio or video playback. If that is not possible, it might be useful to have a service that logs into the server, checks the logs for the last message, and decides if the logs mean everything is okay.

I'm actually using Flash Media Server 2, but it is possible the answer would apply to both that and newer versions.

Any ideas?
