Question
Need help guys, please
I got a copy of the DEV package. I was told to try it out and
see if it does what I need before we buy the full blown thing. I
have been beating my head against the wall all day trying to get
this thing to work. We have installed it every way from sunday and
still, we try to connect to the server that we can SEE is running
via ps -e.. no luck.
We go to the fms2_console.swf (I think that is the name...) and we type in the localhost as the server name (since we simply installed it into the httpd directory and took the defaults)
It asked to install into /opt/macromedia... we let it
It asked for the ports, we put those in, not much of a big thing there.
It asked for nobody for a name and group, we said okay.
It asked to be run as a Daemon.. we said sure.
It asked for 2 weeks paid vacation, we told it to hit the road...
not really, just seeing if you were paying attention.
We approved the vacation.
We let it finish the install (after we gave it a username and a password.
We then loaded fms2_console and it came to a very nice blue background login screen. We typed in :
localhost
username
password
No matter what we do, it refuses to log in/connect. All it does is kick us back to the same login prompt.
The firewall ports are open
The mozilla patch is installed (rpm)
We simply cannot figure out what in the world we are doing wrong here. We called Adobe, they said get the trial version as it has a 30-day key. We tried downloading that.. it was the dev version.
We are not in front of the server. We are trying to access it via a web screen. Perhaps that is the issue?
Please, any help. We co-locate servers (5 of them) so we want to test this remotely before we lock in 4500 bucks.
TY
