Nesting Communication Components

Could someone please explain how I may target a Communication Component that has been embeded in another component?

Specificly I have an instance of the Chat Component placed inside an Accordian Component and have tried setting the path with the simpleConnect Component, but it seems that I can only connect to instances at _root level.

Anyone care to tell me what I'm missing ?

    I figured it out after 3 days of rooting around through code(s)
