new to media server

Hi i am totally new to media server,
can I use normal flash video player I did or is this different,
what I want is, if user drag the play head it needs to stream from that point (like you tube)
please help

    The use case you are mentioning is very much possible using FMS. So when you move play head to particular location, it is called "seek", so when you seek to particular point in stream, server starts sending data from that point onwards. Please let me know if you need any more info.

    Thank you for the reply,

    my company going to buy a flash media server supported server for this,

    so we are going to put the flv there and stream it,

    I have create a flash video player early, so can I use it for this too, or are the functions different?

    do I have to change it for this?

    I am not clear what basically you meant - did you mean your company is planning to buy machine which has minimum requirement specified by FMS ? Can you elaborate on this.

    Can you briefly tell me what you were doing before and what is that you want to achieve now? I would appreciate if you write in detail so that i can help you as much as i can.
