    hi JayCharles

i started learn about flash a year ago and i found my new 'best friends' :)

i can do so many things from a fully flash site to stand-alone courseware.

but then i stumble with FMS (a.k.a flash communication server). so here a my question:

    1) what i have to learn to become a good FMS developer.
    2) what a the basic things i need to master in order to xplore FMS
    3) what kind of problem i may ecounter in pursue of my goal in FMS

some people says "To get a right answer you have to ask the right people".

    thanks.

No. FMS is completely independant, and does not require an http server. You'll still need an http server to serve your .swf file, but that has nothing to do with FMS.

    2. can i install media server on windows xp?

    Yes.

    3. if i dont have iis and i install meida server what is the server address i enter into the admin console?

You'd run it locally as a file. If you install on windows to the default install directory, it will most likely be here:
    C:/Program Files/Macromedia/Flash Media Server 2/fms2_console.htm
