Question

No video showing up in preview or stream

Well I open FME, and it recognizes my cap card, but no video shows up. I went under the settings and it allows me to change only the input under crossbar to composite, which I was told by a tutorial would fix it, but it didnt. Since it isnt showing on FME, it obviously isnt showing on my stream. Any other ideas? PLEASE?

When I just open FME it works ok. FME seems very glitchy though, its seems to not run like it should, but none the less it does run. When i selected webcammax under input, nothing came up, the program didnt boot. FME is running at 18,000K which seems very low actually. I have 2GB of RAM in my laptop, and sometimes for some reason IE runs at like 150,000K which I know is high. But yeah, WebcamMax did not open.

EDIT: I had the preview off for FME and as soon as I turned it back on to see if there was an image from using the Webcammax without it open, I saw the green logo and then my computer crashed...again.

    Hello,

I run exactly into the same problem, FME crashes if I use webcammax. Really annoying that hauptauge wintv usb isn´t supported.

    Cheers

Hmm... that makes me wonder if there's an issue with the startup settings you have set in FME. Does the same thing happen if you start FME without first starting Webcam Max?

Try this... shut down webcam max, then start FME. Once FME is running, select webcam max as the input source. Webcam Max will start automatically when FME tries to connect to it.

Also, in your task manager, can you see which process is eating up app of the processor time? Is it FME or Webcam max?

It wasnt webcam max. That ran great, and my CPU in my task manager never even went up. Just as soon as i opened FME, it crashed. I tried multiple times, no go. Then i unchecked the preview boxes thinkin it would help it run better. Still crashed...

That's surprising. I use webcam max for a lot of tasks, and it's never let me down... even on an underpowered machine. But then again, I've never used it with a Hauppauge card. Maybe Webcam max doesn't like it either.

How do I use the WebcamMax as the input source to FME?

EDIT: I got that to work, and video to show up on FME, but FME is very unstable it seems, and it put my high performance laptop into blue screen...ouch. I tried it again, and got blue screened again. Yeah thats not good. It actually didnt do that before WebcamMax, so I just uninstalled that

Hmm... try WebcamMax. That might do it for you. You'd use the Hauppauge card as the input for WebcamMax, and then use WebcamMax as the input source for FME.

That's the problem. Those Hauppauge cards aren't properly supported by FME or the flashplayer.

    Try Pinnacle's card:

    http://www.pinnaclesys.com/PublicSite/us/Products/Consumer+Products/PCTV+Tuners/PCTV+Digital+PVR+(DVB-S_DVB-T)/PCTV+HD+Card.htm

It's cheap, widely available, and it works with FME and the flashplayer

What video card are you using? Not all cards are supported by FME.
