Question

Optimal configuration for many users each streaming separate content?

Hi.

We are currently having issues with users experiencing buffering on a cluster hosting thousands of files with content which is usually streamed by separate users (ie. 1 user, 1 file). The 64-bit Windows servers have had their FLV cache size maxed out to match the available memory in the servers. We have 1 origin to 5 edge servers.

Each edge server has

     28G RAM

FusionIO 300GB SSD for disk cache

Dual Quad Core CPUs with HyperThreading enabled (we see no cpu issues)

We are not seeing disk queues on the origin and network connections are not maxed out either.

There are no buffering issues on clusters hosting only the "popular content" watched by many concurrent users so it is suspected that the problem lies with the caching mechanism or configuration of this within FMS but we are not certain of it.

Has anyone had a similar but now solved issue?

Thanks!

I'm having exactly similar issues and nobody seems to have an answer.

I don't get any reply from Adobe staff or any comments too.
