peerID information

Hello Everybody, I am working on my first Flash Media Server project. I am a little confused in regards to peerIDs. I be grateful if someone can provide me with some clarity.

Firstly, and  please correct me if I am wrong but my understanding is the nc.nearID is the peerID of the client its like your own telephone number. And, nc.farID is the peerID of the server its like peoples number your trying to contact. You need access to this peerID for 1-to-1 communication. The Server-Side ActionScript client.nearID and client.farID is in the reverse order. Am I incorrect?

Finally, how do you connect to different peers if you are on the same or different servers?
