preloading an flv

Does anyone have any suggestions for creating a preloader for my flv movie (streaming an external flv into the flv playback component(Flash 8). I just want the movie to wait a sec to start playing so it will play without interruption when it starts.

Even if you could point me in the direction of a good article I would greatly appreciate it!
