Questions about upgrading FMS 4 to 5

Hello,
Two questions that I have not found an answer.
I have adobe flash media server 4 on a Windows 2003 Server 32 bit and I would upgrade to version 5 standard.
Is it possible to change from version 4 to version 5 without using version 4.5 and with an upgrade key ?
Is it absolutely essential to use Windows 2008 R2 to install version 5 as I saw in the technical specifications?

Best regards.

Correct answer

The supported platform for AMS 5 is Windows 2008 R2 and Cent OS 5.8.

Also, you can directly install AMS5 with the upgrade key on Windows 2008 R2. Just that you will have to enter FMS 4 serial key also during installation.

Yes you can buy an upgrade key for AMS 5 and move from FMS 4 directly to AMS 5. Windows 2008 R2 is a certified platform for AMS 5 and is thus recommended

Thank you for your response.

Does this mean I would not get support if I install it on Windows 2003 ?

In the case of an installation on Windows 2008 R2, should I install first FMS 4 or can I directly install AMS5 with the upgrade key ?
