record and play back

This forum is of great help. I have an application that works fine on a server.
The live cam video is pretty correct .I have two questions. I would like to record the whole session and play it back.I am using a pre-built component. The only main.asc file is "load components" Can you please tell me what can be added to my application to perform a recording.And how can I play it back. I would very much appreciate a simple and clear explanation as I am not an expert.
My second question is: in the applicationI am using ,there are shared objects. The trouble is that I cannot remove then .In other words all the chats display all that was written previously. Is there a simple way to clear thiese records at the beginning of every new session.
Thanks very much indeed for your precious explanations.

    nope a stream record is only avialable to the publisher....flash media encoder only records nellymoser .....unless my its just my audio card that won't allow other formats

    well first of all to record a stream use NetStream.publish(record);

    second of all flash media encoder isn't necessary to stream anything what are you doing bill? flash media encoder is probably using up preceious cpu cycles for no good reason.

    We went with the new encoder FME Beta because it was fairly easy to get the entire system up and running quickly. We have the producer install the software on his/her machine, give them the connection info (server addess and stream name), and they can basically begin broadcasting almost immediately. We had to make it somewhat easy for our producers to be able to get online and pushing audio/video, and the encoder was just the right thing at the right time.

    Looking back on it, because of this, I don't think we'll have any control over the client side code however.

    We are able to broadcast perfectly through the encoder to the server and out to our viewers, it's just the recording option that now eludes me as far as where and how to add one.

    Thanks again,
    Bill
