rtmfp flash media server

For an rtmfp to function properly do you require a Flash Media Server? I took a look Flash Media Servers on Adobe page and the prices seem very high. I have flash player 10.1 which a rtmfp requires and flash cs3 professional.

Is their an alternative cheaper method to purchase a Flash Media Server? Or, another method that i can work with?

There is an open source cirrus which is developed by Adobe for rtmfp protocol

Thanks Icooloan98 for your reply. I have my cirrus key developer key number. But my query is do you use cirrus in conjunction with a Flash Media Server for the rtmfp to function correctly?  Or, is their another method to use rtmfp without requiring a Flash Media Server?
