Securing the live application.

Hi,

Is there a way to protect the live-application that comes with Flash Media Server 3.5.3 (Streaming server). Atm. we're removing the live application when it's not needed, but this is not an option in the long run (considering the amount of people that will start using this live functionality, and that the users thinks live broadcasting is the greatest thing since sliced bread). How can I set the access to this application? The FMLE-plugin doesn't work on my platform (afaik), and it doesn't prevent people from connecting if they present themself as something other that FMLE. From what I've read, you guys at Adobe are working on this and have been for quite a while and I'd like to know if it's been implemented yet. If not, what are my options at the moment?

I'm not too comfortable knowing that anyone who knows the name of the application can connect to it and start broadcasting.

I mean no one would be able to publish to your application apart from FMLE and one who has username & password. Coming to subscriber clients that it is another thing, you can create a valid swf and pass it only those people whom you want and turn on SWF verification. FMLE Authenitcation Plug-in solves the problem of any one publishing to your server.

FMLE plug-in is now available with Streaming Edition - just upgrade to latest updater of 3.5.5 (http://www.adobe.com/support/flashmediaserver/downloads_updaters.html)  and Authenitcation Add-in of FMLE should work. It was fixed in 3.5.4.

Does this prevent any other clients than FMLE from connecting to the live application? From what I can read in these forums, that plugin only sets username/password for FMLE clients and doesn't prevent any other clients from connecting. True?
