Serve 500 users per minute?

Hi,

Currently I'm looking for a solution to provide a high performing Flash Video player. This should be a streaming video solution to serve about 500 users per minute.

Can anybody tell me if this is possible with Flash Media Interactive Server or Streaming Server?

Next to that, clustering... as far as I know now, the Interactive Server is the product that can do this and it's called origin/edge. Is this correct?

Hopefully you can help me

Thanks in advance!
E.!

If I were you, Flash Media Interactive Server is what I would have gone for, the reason it is scalable(it supports clustering) to meet or exceed the 500 users /minute requirement. FMSS doesn't support clustering.

Edge/origin is the typical way to scale up FMS for Live as well as VOD usage.
However, for live stream distribution, there is another great feature of FMS i.e. multipoint publish; which lets one FMS to distribute its live stream to many FMS. I believe, It's worth a try.

    I hope this helps.

    Thank you for your answer.

Do you have any idea how many servers I should think of? I don't know how much users there could be handled by 1 server, or an avarage. Totally no idea ...
