Hi,

I have an application that records from the webcam to a file on the server. Recently the application instance has stopped responding, however the server and the other apps are up and running fine. I am running 2.0.3 on Windows 2003 Standard Server.

Here is the event viewer information:
Event Type: Error
Event Source: FMS (Core)
Event Category: (261)
Event ID: 1363
Date: 1/10/2007
Time: 7:28:02 PM
User: N/A
Computer: RTU001
Description:
Server detected a backward timestamp from 14095 to 13311 in file: \\rtu011\fmscontent\recorder\_definst_\100012350-1168475269000

Any ideas?

Regards,
Mike

Thats very interesting...on the recording side I use the same technique (ie allowing the recording buffer to empty to the published stream before unpublishing it). I dont get the freezing problem on playback I just get this intermittant not playing the last few seconds of the stream (even though its there if you seek past the 'end').

I think I should make a fresh topic for the playback problem. But I will try and correlate my recordings to the errors in the logs (FLVCHECK aslo reports the timestamp problem but not on the files that play short...!)

    many thanks,

    Hello falakmasir,

We are facing the same problem. However I am not quite clear on the fix you mention. We are using FMS 3 on both windows and linux. The problem shows up on both machines Could you please explain the fix a little bit more.

    Thanks,
    -Jayant.

Yes I am having the same problem, almost every recording I make I see "Server detected a backward timestamp". I am running FMS on Linux. Are you saying that I should delete the user account that runs FMS and re add it?

I Also experience this error using adobe acrobat connect. I didn't use any time adjusting software but i get this error several times an hour.I tried to reinstal FMS and change the version but nothing changed. It's interesting that I get this error only for 3 - 4 meeting rooms, not all of them. it disables camera and voice pod and after that, no voice been recorded in recording. when i stop recording and start it again the problem solves temporarily.
    Please Help

    Was this ever answered?

Yep that's FMS. If your system adjusts the clock , for example if you sync the clock using an NTP timeserver, then FMS says bye bye.

We've seen this happen various times. Disable automatic clock-adjusting tools/programs. Don't alter the time/clock when FMS is running. Develop some watchdog-script that periodically checks if your application or FMS server still is running.

Ok, thanks I will give that a shot.

We are seeing this very frequently with our server -- several times an hour in many cases. The system clock is unlikely to be jumping around so often -- there must be a different cause of this. We need help.
