single bit rate versus multi bit rate

i'm currently running multi bit rate perfectly fine... But.. I can't remember how to change it to single bit rate.  On the Adobe encoder I deselected all but one video bitrate.  I took the %i out of the stream url.  What else do I need to do differently for single bit rate?  Also, shouldn't I move the manifest files for aren't those created automatically with single bit rate?  ALso, does the player code change?
