Sound Recording Quality

Hi!

I have a simple application that records the output of the Microphone on a FMS server using a simple ns.publish (name, record). My question is if I change the rate of the microphone , will that change the sound quality of the .flv file stored on the server ? Or is the recorded sound rate fixed by FMS ?

Thanks,
George

Changing the sampling rate on the mic will change sound quality on the final recording. It's actually the Flashplayer that does the encoding... FMS just records what the player feeds it.

When setting your rate, I suggest using 11,22, or 44khz. Macs have a problem playing back audio sampled at 5 and 11khz.
