While streaming a live worship service in Flash format, I'll need to archive only the sermon in Flash.  I do not want to handle this in post/editing.  What will I need to make this happen?

The available approaches depends on what you're using as your publishing client. Are you using the Flashplayer, Flash Media Encoder, or something else?

I plan to encode with Flash Media Live Encoder 3.0.  We're looking at a couple of hosting options, nothing decided yet.

Since you're not using the Flashplayer (and won't have access to the NetStream.publish method, you'll need to develop your server side code to include methods for recording to a server side stream, and stopping and starting the recording. You'll also need to  develop a Flash/Flex application that will connect to your FMS app and invoke remote methods.

About your hosting plan, is the idea to buy Vhost service from an FMS provider, or are you leaning toward a CDN provider?
